Were you born at, or did you give birth at, at the Royal Hospital for Women before 1945?
Join us for a morning tea and a tour of the site where the Royal Hospital for Women in Paddington once stood.
The Benevolent Society, Australia’s first charity, founded the Royal Hospital for Women in 1905 and would like to take you back in time to discover the history of the hospital and see the site as it is now. Click here for a copy of the event invitation.
Anyone with links to the hospital before 1945 will have a unique opportunity to look around the site, now mainly residential, and see some of the buildings that housed the original wards and nurses accommodation.
Following the tour all guests are invited to The Benevolent Society's head offices on the former RHW site in Paddington for morning tea and an opportunity to look at an exhibition of fascinating photographs form the Society's archives.
“The former Benevolent Society hospital has a rich history and we want to share some of those stories and memories before they are lost forever,” said Richard Spencer, the Chief Executive of the Society.
