The Benevolent Society’s goal is to create caring and inclusive communities, and this extends to our own workplace.  We are committed to creating an environment in which every staff member feels valued, is treated fairly and is recognised for their contribution to our organisation’s success.

Working at The Benevolent Society is a fulfilling experience because we know we are making a positive contribution to the community. We make this contribution through providing quality services, conducting research and evaluation, and finding new and better ways to work.

We currently employ around 800 staff across greater Sydney, regional NSW and South East Queensland and provide career opportunities across a wide range of disciplines. Find out about current career opportunities at The Benevolent Society.

Our people come from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds and include:

  • Community development workers
  • Community and residential care workers
  • Aged care workers, coordinators and managers
  • Nurses
  • Social workers and psychologists
  • Counsellors
  • Family workers
  • Early childhood teachers and childcare workers
  • Researchers and project officers
  • Cooks, cleaners and drivers
  • Corporate support staff in areas such as marketing and fundraising, administration, finance, IT, human resources and payroll, and facilities management.

In 2006 a staff survey on various aspects of our work-place culture was undertaken. More than 90% of staff who participated in the survey agreed that “ I am part of a team working towards a shared goal”, “In my team there is commitment to continually improve the way we work” and “I am encouraged to learn new skills”.
