Influencing social policy to create a fairer Australia
The Benevolent Society aims to create caring and connected communities and a just society. One way that we hope to achieve this is by influencing governments, other decision makers and community opinion.
We do this by:
- listening to our clients and the communities in which we work
- documenting, evaluating and improving our services
- undertaking research and drawing on the latest research from Australia and overseas
- promoting increased understanding of social issues and the causes of disadvantage
- putting forward solutions to governments and opinion leaders, in position papers, research snapshots and submissions
- conducting public campaigns to support the most vulnerable in the community.
