Influencing policy

The Benevolent Society aims to create caring and inclusive communities and a just society. One way that we hope to achieve this is by influencing governments and other decision makers to help make Australia a fairer, safer place for all.

We do this by:

  • listening to our clients and the communities in which we work
  • documenting, evaluating and improving our service
  • drawing on the latest research from Australia and overseas 
  • promoting increased understanding of societal issues and the causes of disadvantage
  • putting forward policy solutions to governments and opinion leaders.
