Every parent wants to give their child a good start in life.

Parenting is a challenging and complex job and we work with hundreds of families each year to support them in raising happy, healthy and safe children. We work in partnership with other organisations, governments and communities to ensure that families receive the best possible services within their local area.

We provide:

  • Early childhood services, including childcare and the innovative Partnerships in Early Childhood program
  • Early intervention programs that provide support early in the life of a child to prevent any problems in the family from affecting the child's future development
  • Parenting support, playgroups and volunteer home visiting
  • Child protection services

Working with communities

We know from research, and from our own experience of working with children, that kids are happier and safer when they have positive relationships with kids their own age, schools and communities, as well as with their own family. To address this, we're working in some areas with whole communities, rather than just with individual families. Read about the work we're doing with communities.

Working with Indigenous children, young people and families

We're working on the NSW Central Coast to help Indigenous children and young people, their families and communities by trying to improve the ways in which government, communities and services work together. Read more about the Aboriginal Children, Youth and Family Strategy..

Children's participation

We support children’s participation in decision-making about issues that affect their lives. We ensure that children are given every opportunity to express their opinions and to have those opinions taken into account.  Read more about how we do this.
