The Benevolent Society provides high quality services to support people with a disability and those who care for them.

The Society's services help people with a disability live in their own homes as independently as possible and stay involved in their communities.

Community care services

The Society runs community care services for people with a disability in the northern, southern and eastern suburbs of Sydney and in the Nepean, Blue Mountains and Hawkesbury areas. The specific services offered vary from area to area. They can include:

  • help in the home with personal care, housekeeping, laundry and more
  • social support such as group activities and outings with peers
  • specialised services that organise and coordinate care for people who have complex needs and who need several different services.

Support for carers

The Society runs services for carers of people with a disability. The specific services offered vary from area to area. They include:

  • respite care so that carers of people with a disability can take a break on a regular planned basis or in an emergency
  • support for teenagers and young people who are carers
  • support for older people caring for an adult son or daughter with a disability
  • information and advice.

Non-English speaking people

All our services are open to people from non-English speaking backgrounds. Interpreters can be organised and we try to use bilingual staff, where appropriate. The Society is working to extend the reach of its services in culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
