The Benevolent Society provides post adoption services and support in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory and in Queensland.
In NSW and the ACT we provide this support through our Post Adoption Resource Centre (PARC).
PARC was established by The Benevolent Society in 1991. This followed the implementation of the NSW Adoption Information Act 1990, since revised as the Adoption Act 2000. Government funding was provided to establish a counselling and information resource for those affected by adoption in NSW.
In Queensland, we provide this support through Post Adoption Support Queensland (PASQ).
PASQ is a new service which has been set up in response to the Adoption Act 2009 which has increased access to information for people affected by adoption. PASQ is funded by the Department of Communities (Child Safety).
