Research partnerships
We partner with a range of individuals and organisations to conduct research. Read more about our Research Agenda.
Please contact the Senior Manager, Research and Evaluation to discuss potential research partnerships with The Benevolent Society.
Evidence-informed practice
At The Benevolent Society we explore ways of applying research findings and evidence to our own services, based on the principle that the development of interventions is informed by the most current, relevant and reliable evidence about their effectiveness. Read our paper on evidence-informed practice.

Families on the Fringe
Over the last three decades, thousands of young Australian families have left major cities and relocated to non-metropolitan areas on the coasts and inland areas. The Families on the Fringe project, which began in July 2005 and will be completed in July 2008, examines what motivates young families to relocate and what impacts the relocation has. This is a partnership between The University of Queensland, The Queensland Government, The Benevolent Society and Mission Australia.
A partnership of The Benevolent Society, the NSW Commission for Children and Young People and RMIT University has recently received an Australian Research Alliance for Children and Youth grant to research children's experiences of poverty. We'll provide more information on this site once the project is underway.
